What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned more about how archaeology works in Italy in relation to other countries. I learned what an excavation is like from the beginning which is essential to any aspiring archaeologist. It was definitely worthwhile.

Do you have any tips/advice on the best ways to practice the language for future study abroad participants? I would try to learn as much as possible before you leave. Basics will help someone feel more incorporated into the culture. Practice the Italian Accent.

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • I liked that we had Italian Staff
  • I liked that we could integrate into Rome and the culture.
* What could be improved?
  • I would make the roles clear among the group- which staff member/intern is responsible for what aspect of the project to avoid complications
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I would have learned more Italian. Being able to communicate in Italian with the staff would have made me feel more integrated and useful.
