What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I thought that my study abroad experience was total worthwhile. I would suggest to every student to study aboard, no matter where they are. I learned a lot about myself and the culture.

Personal Information

The term and year this program took place: Summer 2009

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I really learned a lot in my class and had a lot of fun while doing it.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

They administration was really knowledge about the area and always willing to answer our questions. They were pretty easy to get in contact with and the office was pretty easy to get to.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I stayed in the dorm provided by the program and it was nice. We were in a little quieter part of town, which was nice to get away from the tourist spots, but still within walking or tram distance to the center of town. The breakfast provided was good.

I felt pretty safe in the neighborhood and it was easy to get tot he tram.

* Food:

The breakfast was good, but it was almost the same every day.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

They took us to several other cities and it was really cool to see. There is so much to see Prague as well and I never ran out of things to do.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I felt pretty safe in the city overall, you just have to aware of the area you are in.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? The program gives you an allowance for food that comes from you tuition and I mostly just used that for everything, including travel. The key is not spend that money eating out all of the time. We bought a lot of own food to cook, which saved us a lot of money. When we did go out to eat we tried to stay away from the really expensive places in the center of town.

Comments: I really enjoyed this class we got to walk around the city and go into museums to see the things we were talking about. This made it really easy to learn about. The teacher knew what he was talking about and able to answer our questions.
