Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 2 weeks - 1 month

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The class I took abroad was not impressive. I did not learn much at all. My professor was very unprofessional.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

My program administrator was absolutely amazing. She was helpful in all ways possible. She took us on day trips, took us out to lunches and expensive dinners. She regularly checked in with everyone.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Going by myself (rather than with my home institution) was the best decision I could have ever made. I made friends from around the world, probably the closest friends I have ever made in my life. My program and advisors within it were helpful and full of information. I am extremely satisfied with my decision to study with AIFS, Athens, Greece.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

If I were to do it over, I would plan better on how much everything would cost, especially food.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $550
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Do not buy everything you see at once. Scope out everything and then decide whether you really need/want it. Most places sell the same things and some are cheaper than others by a couple of dollars. Also, bargain!
