Adelante: Edinburgh - Equine Summer Program in Scotland

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I loved this trip, I only wish I didn't have to leave. I learned a lot about Scotland and I enjoyed it all.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Anatomy was nice and not very rigorous since I've already done it, but Equine fitness was pretty new for me.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Everyone here was very nice and helpful!

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

The food here was great!

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I met some great people here, but I would have liked to have had the opprotunity to be around the Scottish students longer.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I didn't have any but I'm sure it would've been fine

* Safety:

No where is 100% safe, but I never felt uncomfortable or anything here. Obviously don't go out alone, and always be careful but you should be good

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

It was kind of expensive, we had to buy our own food quite a bit and transportation and gifts can add up after a month

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Save as much money as you can and spend wisely

Reasons For Studying Abroad

To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you.
The Avid Adventurer
The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
