Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I liked the way that the final paper was based on applying what was learned in class to a company or situation.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The international office at Trinity is very good. They were always willing to help us with any problems or concerns that we might have.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

My flat was close to my classes and dining facilities which was handy. I also enjoyed meeting and interacting with the other students who also lived in my flat.

* Food:

The dinning hall provided a vegetarian option with for every meal, and cycled the meals so the food was different each morning and night. However, only breakfast and dinner on weekday s were included in the catered meal plan.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

The international office took the international students on cultural excursions to many different parts of Wales, which was a nice way to sight see and experience the culture.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

The police came and told us about safety in Carmarthen, which is one of the safest cities in the United Kingdom.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? About 10 pounds on food each week, so that I could eat lunch and each on the weekends. I brought most of the personal items that were small enough with me, so I didn't have to buy them there. I spent more when I was traveling or went out to eat at a restaurant.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? I just tried to be as frugal as I could when buying food, while making healthy food choices that I could make in a microwave.
