About

This program offers a unique opportunity to learn about nutrition, food, health and culture of the region through a variety of field experiences and guest lectures. 

Some of the program activities include learning how to prepare South African Xhosa cuisine, visiting food production sites, community nutrition clinics, child health and nutrition projects, HIV and diabetic children communities, nursing homes and sports institutes in Cape Town as well as surrounding communities and townships. 

Through the African Studies course, students will have a chance to learn about the region's history and culture in depth, and visit some historical and important sites.
