About

This Maymester will allow students to deepen their understanding of social and economic justice while exploring the historical roots of social and economic inequality in Brazil. Students will be immersed in Brazilian culture while living in the thriving metropolis of Belo Horizonte.

The course will also examine public social policies in Brazil, including affirmative action and conditional cash transfers. Students will also have the opportunity to gain first-hand experience through visits to social service agencies and favela neighborhoods.
