University of St. Andrews: St. Andrews - Direct Enrollment & Exchange

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned how to navigate a new place on my own. I also learned how to be more independent and plan travels to places I had never been. The experience was definitely worthwhile.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The University of St. Andrews had so many experiences to be a part of that were unique to the school. A few in the spring included: fashion shows, hall balls, charity polo match, and May Ball. No other school has traditions quite like these!

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

  • University Traditions
  • Location
  • Town culture
* What could be improved?
  • Academics
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? That you can't travel everywhere you want to go in just one semester. St. Andrews is also not super convenient to an airport (about 1.5 hours from Edinburgh) so traveling every weekend isn't as easy as it sounds.
