University of Oxford - Visiting Students

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I loved studying abroad. It was a great experience and I would definetly do it again.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 2 weeks - 1 month

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The program was made for American students so there wasnt an difference between the host university and the American educational system. It was exactly like taking classes back in the U.S.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

This program was made by American professors and they handled all of the administration for the program.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

The food got a little repetitive. There is a lot of chicken and potatos.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

The program always arranged for great trips almost every weekend. The understood the balance between school and exploring another country.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

There were never any problems. The program administrators were always there to help and I dont think there was ever a problem where they were needed.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? I probably spend 50 pounds a week on food and drinks.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? If you think you are going to try and go to another country be sure to bring extra money. Also make sure you leave your credit card number with your parents so if something went wrong and your card gets stole then they can help you.

Language
