University of Northern Iowa: Capstone in England and Ireland

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
It was very worthwhile. I experienced a different way of life and interacted with people who had a different background than me. I learned more independence and felt my worldview expand. I got to see an amazing part of the world and learn about country's whose history is older than my own. It was one of the best things I could have done for myself to complete my college experience.

The Nearly Native or Trail Blazer
Craving the most authentic experience possible, perhaps you lived with a host family or really got in good with the locals. You may have felt confined by your program requirements and group excursions. Instead, you'd have preferred to plan your own trips, even skipping class to conduct your own 'field work.'
