Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? I had a meal plan, so very little besides what I had already paid for.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? On UNIC’s study abroad program in Nicosia, I would recommend not purchasing a meal plan and instead saving your money to purchase food when exploring rather than feeling tethered to the few eateries on the meal plan!

Do you have any tips/advice on the best ways to practice the language for future study abroad participants? It wasn’t necessary here to learn the language, but I would’ve liked it if our program coordinators had included more cultural activities, such as teaching us some basic phrases.
