What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I would recommend that everyone travel abroad, even if you dont like the program (like I did) it doesnt change the fact that you learn so much about yourself. I for example learned that I NEED to live in a city with a fairly large population size (no smaller than Boston!) because otherwise i become bored easily and I am not a huge partier (which is how most people passed their time)

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 6 months+

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

We traveled A LOT and the travel time didnt include an educational piece (beyond go9ing to museums) so there was very little brain usage the entire time, unless you count having a blog

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I am kind of glad we lived with Americans b/c the society is a lot more prejudiced and closed minded than they led on.

* Food:

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Cyprus is tiny and SUPER expensive to go anywhere

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? it is SO EXPENSIVE! it is on the Euro (which isnt as bad as it was when I went which is nice) but it is also an island that would trade with Turkey (which it is closest to) except turkey has an embargo against it so everything is shipped from very far away.

Language

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? None
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Study abroad on the mainland of Europe and take advantage of their SUPER cheap student airfare instead of just going for the multi-country travel
