What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I've grown and changed so much as a person. I'm much more confident, independent, and adventurous now than I was before this experience and I'm so grateful for that. It was 100% worthwhile.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

As far as student housing goes, it was pretty standard. The rooms/buildings were nothing too special, but they were clean and a nice place to call home for a few months.

* Food:

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

I do wish that I could have studied in a bigger city, or that I would have chosen to study in a Spanish speaking country as that is my minor, but overall I had an incredible time and would absolutely do it all over again. I've grown so much as a person and developed genuine friendships that I never expected.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

I spent more than anticipated, but I luckily had more than enough money saved up beforehand to cover everything.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $100-150
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Save as much as you possibly can beforehand! Also apply for as many scholarships as you can.

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? No

Direct Enrollment/Exchange

* Did you study abroad through an exchange program or did you directly enroll in the foreign university? Exchange

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • The people I met/Friendships I made
  • Easy access to travel to other places
  • Culture
* What could be improved?
  • Food in student accommodation
  • Visa/Application process
  • Cost of living
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? College students abroad are not so different from those at my home university. I was expecting to feel so out of place, and was so afraid to live in a new country, but it's not scary at all and the people are all so welcoming.
