What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Yes. I am definitely more confident with traveling on my own and dealing with unfamiliar situations.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

This system required more independent study than a typical American university and included less frequent assessments, so there was more responsibility on the student to stay on top of coursework.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? I spent an average of 30 UK pounds a week, not including the pre-paid room and board.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? It was generally better to buy food at a supermarket, rather than go to restaurants, although Edinburgh does have a lot of cheap eateries that cater to students. Bear in mind that you will need to buy things like towels, linens, if you don't bring them with you.
