What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
At The University of Edinburgh, I had the opportunity to challenge myself both with unfamiliar subjects such as Cognitive Science with an Introduction to Computer Programming, and with the exposure to a different educational environment and teaching style whilst taking courses in my field of study, such as Accountancy and Social Policy. Overall this has been an exciting and demanding experience that has definitely spurred my personal development and independence.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

It depends a lot on the subjects you take. Strongly recommend Social Policy, and Cognitive Science. Highly discourage students taking courses in French: I asked for help/extra material to read and professor didn't respond, she disregarded exchange students.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Having a EU passport they messed up my application a few times as they registered me as ERASMUS. This led to a few problems with housing etc, but it ended up fine.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Housing application was easy and the actual accommodation BEAUTIFUL!!!

* Food:

I wasn't in a catered option, so I don't really know about university food. But the ingredients are really fresh in Edinburgh.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)
