What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Yes! Studying abroad is always worthwhile, especially for me. The number one thing I gain from being abroad id Confidence in me, my academic ability, being able to deal with living on my own with other people in another country, etc. I will never forget this experience.

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I really enjoyed living in my flat, and sharing this experience with people of different cultures.

* Food:

I did struggle in the beginning of the semester with food, but in the end I got into a grove of what foods I liked.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I felt very welcomed by the British culture and community.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I did not have any health issues addressed during my time abraod.

* Safety:

I felt very safe. UEA security does a great job of making sure the campus is/feels safe and secure.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Before attending UEA I did over estimate the conversion rate from dollar to pound, but all in all I lived pretty well on a student's budget.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? About $310 converted into pounds is around 200.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Definitely have a budget. Have separate bank accounts one for food, cell phone, bills, etc., and the other for fun.

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • Being in England
  • Living in a flat
  • Learning about everything
* What could be improved?
  • My dorm since it was far away from the Laundrette there should've been one in my flat.
  • Everyone in the flat should've had thier own mini fridge and cupboard (it doesn't have to big).
  • More of a welcoming enviroment for international students. I felt the incoming student just got thrown into the UEA community without really knowing how things works. There should've been more own getting groceries, etc., and more tours of campus.
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I wish I had paced myself more.
