Cambridge: Hard Work, but Undoubtedly Worth the Effort Past Review

I gained an appreciation for the subtleties of British culture, but the real benefit for me was the opportunity I had to explore a subject area unavailable to me at my home college. I'm actually looking to go back to Cambridge University for a graduate program in the field that I studied while in the program.

Pembroke May Ball- requires staying until the very last day of the program (a full week after exams end) and is relatively expensive, but is a fantastic experience and a great way to celebrate the completion of the school year with the regular students. |

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |

| Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | Around 85 pounds ($140) per week for food, eating most meals in the Pembroke College Servery. Other personal expenses totaled around 5 pounds ($7) per week. Most other students spent more than I; I was frugal. |
| Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | For those who choose to travel around Europe during the Easter term break, the travel can become extremely costly, and students should begin budgeting for their break plans as soon as they arrive at Cambridge. |

| * What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | This program is unlike almost all other study abroad programs. It is for highly self-motivated students who want the experience of studying at a high-caliber UK school. Students looking for an easy program that feels like a vacation should look elsewhere. |
