Too much to write! One thing was confidence- I thought I was pretty confident and self sufficient before but this is such a different situation where you are isolated from your family/friends. ABSOLUTELY worthwhile! I wish I could have stayed a whole year instead of just a semester. Jenna M - University of Wisconsin - LaCrosse View Entire Review
I became much more confident in my Spanish-speaking abilities, and I learned how the rest of the world lives. Mexico is a far cry from the 1st world abundance I grew up surrounded by, and it was so healthy to see the reality of our world's inequality firsthand. It made me a better human being, and I'm grateful that I saw life in... Ethan Z - University of Wisconsin - LaCrosse View Entire Review
I gained extreme knowledge of the culture and better understanding of the people and their traditions, norms, and though processes. Also I succeeded in bettering my language skills. It was definitely worthwhile and an amazing experience. Lauren S - Valparaiso University View Entire Review

I learned a lot of knowledge about traveling and functioning in another language. Afterwards, I realized that I should have managed my money a little better- I spent a lot! Having an internship teaching English in an Elementary school in Mexico showed me that I would love to do Bilingual education, and I have since changed my ma... It was absolute worthwhile. It has shown me that I can accomplish anything I set out to do. I can very easily live in an environment very different from my own. Pat S - Valparaiso University View Entire Review
Yes, but I think it would have been a lot better at another university. Nick D - Valparaiso University View Entire Review
I have come to learn a lot more about myself in my time there and my language skills did improve, but I wish I would have been able to take advantage of more of the opportunities that were available to me while I was there. Jeremy R - Valparaiso University View Entire Review
The experience was incredibly worthwhile. There were a lot of lessons I learned that I expected to learn (Language improvement, cultural awareness, patience, etc) and many that I didn't anticipate, including an awareness of how I treated people, and how I plan on interacting with people in the future. Courtney B - Oklahoma State University - Stillwater View Entire Review
My experiences abroad were incredible. If I could do it all over again, I would. My language skills improved exponentially, which is what I hoped would happen. Sarah V - Wartburg College View Entire Review
I definitely thought it was worthwhile! The viewpoints you get from this program are great because it really opens you up to what it is like to be a minority and also what other people's struggles are in a different part of the world. Brandon - Wartburg College View Entire Review
the study abroad experiences was worth it in all ways, i gain many qualities trough this program such as how to interact with another culture, how to immplement other skills into a new sourunding, undersatnding what it feels to be in another country and be able to accept it and my ability to acostum to it. now i would like to ma... I learned how to make friends with people from cultures all around the world, also to be more independent, and I am immensely prouder of my own country. Cortéz D - Oklahoma State University - Stillwater View Entire Review
Yes, absolutely. A student - SUNY - College at Geneseo View Entire Review
I don't consider myself a feminist but I despise the way boys and men treat women in this country. It is shocking how many men don't trust their girlfriends to go places alone or the appalling cat calls a girl receives which walking innocently on the street. At times here I felt more like a piece of meat than I did a real person... Gretchen H - Indiana University of Pennsylvania View Entire Review
YES! I learned a lot more about myself and the kind of person I want to be. It has definitely impacted my future plans because I want to return there (or possibly another country in Latin America) to live and work for a year or two after graduation. Was an amazing experience. Challenging at times, but I liked that about it. Learned a lot about a new culture, people, and country, and a lot about myself. So glad I went. Kyle W - Valparaiso University View Entire Review
This experience will be with me for the rest of my life, and I am thankful for it. Emily R - Valparaiso University View Entire Review
I became even more open-minded, I got to see America from an outside point of view, and I got to experience a whole new level of independence. It opened my eyes to a vulnerable population that, as a social work major, I may consider directing my career path toward that I hadn't really considered before as it's not really prevale... I learned so much, I got a chance to interact not only with local students but also with students from all around the world! I saw things in different perspectives and learn how to see things from other people's eyes. I learn that there are so many people out there that thing similar to me just in different languages and differe... Daniel C - Indiana University of Pennsylvania View Entire Review

Extremely worthwhile. I learned so much in every aspect. My spanish speaking skills are improved, I learned things about myself that I wasn't even aware I should learn, I know I can make it on my own, I realize my place in this world a little bit better.
