Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The teaching faculty was (mostly) amazing. There were a lot of lectures given by different lecturers and they were great, but I think the best aspect about studying at Oxford is how we have tutors who guide us, generally for the whole year.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Since it was a Tufts program, everything regarding transfer of credit was extremely easy. I just wish that we got our grades earlier rather than having to wait until the fall. The whole process was easy and the only problem was at our end, as I am still waiting for credit approval towards my major from one department.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

The dorms were pretty old, given the age of the school, but the rooms were single and they were relatively big. Also, having the sink in the room was very convenient.

The staircase that I lived in wasn't particularly good (but there were other dorms that were nicer and you didn't have to make special arrangements). But the location of the college was great.

* Food:

The environment in which we ate (formal and informal halls) was interesting, but the quality of food provided by the college was not too great. There were plenty of eating out options, though.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

A lot of events and other social activities involved drinking since the legal age in the U.K. is lower, but I got used to it.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I didn't have any health issues so I'm not sure, but I felt very safe in the city and within the college.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? None

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I would say go for it if he/she is ready for the academic challenge, but it is definitely an extremely enjoyable experience.
