* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

They were great! Same comment as above about more experiential learning.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

It was great, but I'd have loved to get a host family stay.

* Food:

I cooked for myself.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

A trip to Wadi Rum/Petra that we went on with program teachers was a really great experience.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Nothing particular.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Nothing I can recall.

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? Beginner
What was the highest level language course you had completed prior to departure? I had 2 years of college level Arabic before going (Arabic A and Arabic B, both full year courses)
Language acquisition improvement?

Teachers, classmates, people in general - Arabic was pretty necessary to get around Amman and Jordan, but again, it would have been great if we had focused more on learning how to speak to people and not just on MSA.

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
