Study Abroad Programs in Costa Rica

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Yes it was worth it there so many word to express my feeling to this trip. I would say It a Champ!

I got credit for going to workshop and prepare to go Costa Rica with students and staffs.

The program is was a great experience ever because I can able learn what real life out the world in Costa Rica and compare to United States. The program expand our knowelege about Costa Rica and able to visited the Deaf school. Do the communities service and have fun learning nature in Costa Rica.

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Most of time we went to 3 different hotels and they are neat!

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I get the opporunity to meet the deaf people in Costa Rica and their language little bit similar to American Sign Language. I was able to go with our school groups to visit the amazing waterfall, went on the canopy, have fun going to beach and many more.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I have no problem with health or anything. There several student get sick or got hurt and their doctor plus nurses are there to help with interpreter ready on side. It neat and great service for us.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language acquisition improvement?

Most people there do speak spanish and there a translator interpreter in sign language because most of us are deaf or hard of hearing. I did take Spanish and I did learn alot from this trip by using my knowelege of Spanish.
