What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned so much about my self and living with people. I learned tons about the environment and cultures. It was so worthwhile and I am so thankful for my experiences there.

My host family was incredible. Could not have asked for a better living situation

The activities that we did fully immersed us in the culture and taught us about their way of life

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

They were so helpful and encouraging during the whole process. Made sure I was getting things done on time and answered all of my questions.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Depended on what you did on the free weekends..

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $100-150. Again- depended largely on weekend activities and what you did for the free week
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Grocery shop when you go in excursions without the program instead of eating out all the time. If you're going to Costa Rica, beans in a bag will be your best friend.

Do you have any tips/advice on the best ways to practice the language for future study abroad participants? Talk with your host families as much as possible. And one-on-one conversations with friends is super helpful as well

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Nothing really- that's just part of the process. You go down hardly knowing anything, and learn it all along the way for future experiences.
