My Summer up North! Past Review

By (Carleton College) - abroad from 06/12/2017 to 08/09/2017 with

Round River Conservation Studies - Taku River Watershed Program

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned so much about Conservation Biology. As someone who came in with almost no prior knowledge, I was a little nervous about falling behind but the leaders ensured I didn't. They were very encouraging and made all of the work reasonable and rigorous, while also enjoyable. I also made some deep and lasting friendships

Cooking with the other students was a great bonding experience and we often had a 'fancier' meal for special guests about 1x a week.

I learned so much from the Land Guardians, various Tlingit elders, and the greater Atlin community

Very safe!

The Avid Adventurer
The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
