What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learn about the Tlingit Indigenous people and their connection to the land in relation to conservation biology. Being able to help contribute to life changing conservation efforts was worthwhile.

I would choice the same program again due to the strong cultural component as well as the location.

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? When we talk about conservation it is important to conserve culture as well as the land. It is also important to think about the boreal region as being a fundamental place for conservation.
