Yes, it opened my eyes to a whole new culture and it helped me to understand what it is like for those who come to the U.S. to study or work and have to learn English. It can be very frustrating to not be able to convey simple ideas.

Outside of class the workload is minimal. You do have to work pretty hard in class just because you are constantly talking or doing work. Some teachers are great and some are not so great. |

I felt that they did everything well. It wasn't exceptional, but it wasn't bad. |

I lived with a family and had my own room and shared a bathroom. They had a nice house for Peru and they fed me well during my stay. The food was very traditional and there wasn't much variety. |

How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Machu Picchu is beautiful. I loved the local markets. I enjoyed riding the public transportation. Many festivals in the month of June. |

I never felt threatened and didn't get terribly sick where I needed to receive medical attention. |

| Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Don't by stuff in the large squares because everything is more expensive around there. Explore and go to the local stores. |
