It was incredibly worthwhile. I was able to connect with people I never would have met otherwise, who come from very different backgrounds. I was put in uncomfortable situations where I needed to be flexible and act with common sense.

This program has a lot of cultural value but is not academically rigorous. However, in this setting, it would be difficult and possibly unwise to have a program that is very academically rigorous, as there are not the same resources as students would have access to in developed countries. |

I had a life-changing experience in Yaoundé. I learned so much from my time abroad, and I hope to pursue an international career because of my time there. |

| Comments: | Our professor was very knowledgeable about the history of Cameroon, and I felt I learned a lot about the history of Cameroon and sub-Saharan Africa. I felt I was able to apply this knowledge in understanding the political and cultural context in which I found myself. His lectures were organized, assignments were clear. We took several tests and wrote small essays. We were well prepared for the assessments. |
