Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
I was placed into a higher level Spanish class, and I found it to be a good review of older concepts. While I wasn't necessarily learning new material, it was still helpful to review aspects of Spanish grammar that I do not use as frequently. The professor was great - very open to questions and open conversations. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
They all seemed very knowledgeable and definitely met my expectations. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
The housing wasn't really part of the program - it was more an aspect of our school's study abroad so it wasn't a choice, but we stayed in hotels in our group of students. It was fun but not conducive to learning Spanish. |
* Food: |
Amazing food! |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
We spent a lot of time hiking and taking in indigenous sites, and that was by far my favorite part of the trip! |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
Be careful and always be aware - even in safe areas, there is the possibility that something can go wrong! |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Language
* Did your program have a foreign language component? | Yes |
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition? |
|
Language acquisition improvement? |
The best way to improve language is to make a point of conversing with natives in everyday experiences. That way, you learn basic vocabulary and constructions that you would use on a daily basis. |
