Hong Kong: Gateway to the East Past Review

By (Marketing., Trinity University) - abroad from 08/18/2014 to 12/23/2015 with

Lingnan University: Hong Kong - Direct Enrollment & Exchange

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I expected to learn mostly about a foreign culture. While this was true, I learned even more about myself. Immersion in a completely alien environment really lets you see your true colors.

The administration was helpful and knowledgeable.

The dorm rooms are very small, but it is nice to get to live with a local. It really adds to the whole experience.

I felt safer here than I have in any other city.

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Asia is pretty cheap compared to the US.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $100
