What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Yes. I was able to experience a different culture and take away different persepectives. I learned to not necessarily look at things the way I have grown up to do, but from a different culture's point.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The only thing I didn't like was that I didn't get any of my coursework until the last 3 weeks of the semester, which crammed everything I had to get done in a short amount of time. It was manageable, but I would have liked to at least received what I was expected to do before the last 3 weeks of classes.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I really enjoyed where I was living, but I was put on a floor that was all first years and with only 2 students relatively close to my age. Otherwise, the location of my college was safe, close to my classes and to get to town was just a short bus ride. I did have to buy kitchen supplies for myself as there was not a meal program. I was able to find a couple people that split the cost of these items.

* Food:

I cooked my own food as there was a kitchen on my floor. The food places on campus were nice to go to although.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? Maybe £50 a week
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Watch how much you spend. Don't buy books right away, check to see if they are in the library.

Language

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? None
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
