ISEP Exchange: Sodertorn - Exchange Program at Sodertorn University (Södertörns högskola)

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I loved it. It was the best decision in my life. I would never change it for anything. I learned that there is more to life than just USA.

Personal Information

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I loved my classes and the content that was taught in them.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The program is very organized but they should be more understanding when it comes to orientation week.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Great!

The living situation was great. The rooms were big and the location was close to the school.

* Food:

I made it myself.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I loved being with the exchange students because they were the most open.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I felt that Sweden was one of the safest places in the world.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? I spent around $20 a week on food. It depends on what you buy from the store. For the social aspect I spent alot more.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? I would first see how the exchange rate is and save money for traveling. I would wait to buy items towards the end for family because you will run out. Travel in the beginning because friends will be made and you will not want to be without them in the end.

Language

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? None
