Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

My workload was particularly easy because I ended up taking classes that weren't in other people's major tracks. So it was actually perfect because I never felt too bogged down to enjoy the culture and my time in Mexico. I never had any tests, I barely had any reading, but they did really push critical and analytic skills. My classes were all SUPER interesting and I am very pleased with my educational experience abroad.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The Crossing Borders class feels a lot like handholding, and its not really applicable because I listened to like 15 presentation on England that was meant to prepare me for Mexico. It didn't. I understand the theory of this type of class, but we've done the most independent thing in our lives, so maybe a 3 hour orientation would be more useful for students preparing to go abroad.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I love my family dearly, they are like my own parents and sisters now.

* Food:

Super awesome all the time.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
Language acquisition improvement?

No one ever spoke English, I took a class with a bunch of foreigners so we all had to speak Spanish to understand eachother.

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
