ISEP Exchange: Chester - Exchange Program at University of Chester

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Along with the self growth and independence from living alone in a different country I gained life-long friends in England (since leaving I've visited twice!)

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Class format was definitely different from the American style I was used to but were interesting and enjoyable. The work was rigorous but not overwhelmingly so.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

We did a couple international student "field trips" which was a fun way to see more parts of the country and meet other international students.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I loved it! I lived in the student dorms with mostly other English students and felt completely immersed in the University and country.

* Food:

It was cafeteria food so not amazing, but also exactly what you would expect.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

This was one of the best part of the experiences for me.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I never had any healthcare experiences

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

* Did your program have a foreign language component? No
