What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned that I was capable of working in another country with different language. It was totally worthwhile; i have more self confidence in my ability to communicate and I trust in my ability to adapt to new environments.

I didn't have health insurance, so my one doctors visit when i had a bacterial infection cost a big hunk of change

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

It helped me get my foot in the door when I thought it was impossible to do so.

i lived with my boyfriend so a lot of my expenses were already covered

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? keep cash on you a leave your credit card at home then you will think more before you spend all of your money

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • they were always there to help if i had problems, questions
  • the staff was easy to talk to and really got to know me so that they could match me up with the perfect oppertunity
  • they gave me confidence to pursue my dreams.
* What could be improved?
  • the time it takes to get the documentation ready for the visa
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? that you need original documentation of everything for the visa and your need to fill out documentation carefully when you register with the federal police in Brazil.
