Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The IFSA-Butler staff were always holding office hours where students could get their questions answered whether it was academic or social. IFSA-Butler had a lot of social and cultural events that allowed us to engage in Scottish culture as well as explore the country.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

The housing was amazing! I lived in Darroch Court and had an amazing room, in a great location and great flatmates.

* Food:

I was not on a meal plan so I cooked my own food which worked out so well! Tesco and Sainsbury are cheap local markets and the kitchens were very easy to use in my flat!

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Since I went abroad second semester, I did not meet as many Scottish or international students. My main friend group consisted of IFSA-Butler students; however, I really enjoyed the friends and time that I had. I did meet a lot of people from Scotland throughout my semester.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

The system in the UK is so efficient! I suffered a major burn while abroad and was very quick to be helped with all medical care.

* Safety:

Edinburgh is an incredibly safe city! I felt 100% safe walking around at night.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Have a monthly budget and a travel budget! Keep them seperate.
