Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

i found that the profs here are very rehearsed and not very engaging. the only time i feel i actually learned anything is during tutorials.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

i found that the university isnt helpful. often times they catch you ofguard and slap you with huge fees. its also very annoying that scottish students attend for free, and as a result, hardly ever show up to class. i met far more americans in edinburgh than i met scottish people, which is kind of disappointing. if i would have known that it was such an international city i would have choosen a place a bit more cultural. lecture sizes were good, but the lectures were also dull, with no student teacher interaction. tutorials are the only useful thing.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

housing was awful. i stayed in university residence flats. i know some of the flats are great but block 7 of robertsons close is not one of them. if planning to stay in a flat, id recommend warrender park cresent. it also really depends on the luck of the draw with flat mates.

* Food:

its fine.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

easy place to travel out of. societies are mostly great. easy to walk and meet up with friends.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

it was fine. the accomodation has unplanned fire drills twice a week so people were really good at evacuating. there was some rapes and muggings or drunk people crossing the meadows late at night, and some anti american violence on the royal mile late at night, but other than that it was fine.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)
