IES Abroad: London - Study London

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I loved travelling and soaking in the culture. I definitely feel like I packed in a lot of experiences and sites, and I made life-long friends.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 1 month - 6 months

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I generally enjoyed my professors and classes. I took the theater class and was disappointed because the professor was awful and she chose terrible plays to read and see. However, my Britich lit professors were excellent and made it feel worthwhile to read British literatyure while in England.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

I didn't have any issues.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I liked being surrounded by friends. But the rooms were TINY. Smaller than a cheap cruise cabin.

* Food:

The food was fine. London is not known for fabulous food. There was an Amazing breakfast/brunch Dutch pancake house across the street from our dorm.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I made a lot of friends within the program, and also had ample opportunity to go out and to travel.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I didn't really have any personal experiences, but I think overall everything was fine and handled well.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)
