I gained exposure to a new culture and society, and got to play a role in dutch culture in a very real way. Absolutely worthwhile

The Vrije University was an amazing education. Engaging professors, course material and class discussions. Learned a ton on really interesting topics!

Very very safe city, never had an issue with theft or harassment

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Amsterdam was an amazing city and IES + semester in amsterdam at the VU gave me so much of what I wanted in terms of immersion and exposure to a european experience

I took a dutch class while there, but everyone spoke english. It was mostly for myself.

The Networker
An active student leader, it was important for you to network abroad as well. Once overseas, you sought out student clubs, volunteered with local organizations, or attended community events. You encouraged your friends join you, and often considered how you could reflect your international experiences in a resume.
