GVI offers a variety of Study, Teach, Volunteer & Internship programs in Costa Rica, including:


  • Wildlife Expedition in Jalova: Experience marine and rainforest conservation in this biodiversity hotspot. On Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast you will join a team of international volunteers as an expedition member. Our expedition base camp is located in the Tortuguero National park of Costa Rica. Your hands on work will contribute to the long-term management and conservation of this stunning rainforest.


  • Jaguar Conservation in Jalova: Based in the Tortuguero National Park, assist in the protection of endangered Jaguars.. Discover the rainforests of Costa Rica and assist in the protection of the elusive and endangered Jaguar. Conduct surveys and set up remote cameras, gathering data for use in a long-term wildlife conservation effort along Central America's Caribbean coast. Develop new skills and an in-depth understanding of the rainforest and its ecosystem on this unique tropical adventure.


  • Sea Turtle Conservation in Jalova: Volunteer to Protect Green, Hawksbill and Leatherback Sea Turtles in Tortuguero National Park. Travel to Costa Rica's Tortuguero National Park and help protect endangered sea turtles. Assist with the monitoring of endangered green turtles and critically endangered hawksbill and leatherback turtle species, contributing to the long-term conservation of these species while you develop research skills and gain an understanding of the region's rain forest and it's ecosystem.


  • Volunteer with Children in Manuel Antonio: Learn Spanish, volunteer on childcare projects and explore Central America. Immerse yourself in Costa Rican culture when you travel to Quepos and volunteer on a community project helping disadvantaged children. Assist the understaffed local schools in the town of Quepos with lessons as well as extra-curricular art workshops, sport programs and games. Take advantage of the myriad of activities that this diverse coastal region has to offer, including surfing, horseback riding, scuba diving and zip lining in your free time.
