What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned that I think I would love to travel more! I also would want to make more of an effort to interact with locals.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I had already taken an intensive anatomy course at my school that went above and beyond the level of the anatomy course in this program. However, I feel like it was a really good introduction for people who did not have anatomy prior to the program.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Laura was great! She answered emails in a timely manner and was so fun and polite. She organized some great trips for us!

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

There was all a lot of mold in all of the air conditioners across all of the rooms. Despite opening the windows regularly to air out the apartment.

* Food:

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I wish I had met more locals

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I thought it was very safe. I felt safe enough to run by myself early in the mornings.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

yes and no, I loved the anatomy course in my program but I also really would have loved to do the cruise that some of the students went on.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

I definitely did not bring enough money on the trip.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? 100
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? be sure to save more than you think you'll need, well in advance

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • I liked the weekend excursions
  • the other students being so close in the appartments
* What could be improved?
  • I didn't like that our second class didn't end until 5:30PM. We had a large gap in between our classes and I would have preferred having the classes back to back and then having the afternoons free.
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I wish I had saved more money beforehand. You'll definitely want to participate in all the fun activities (like boating) that everyone does on weekend trips, which cost money! And eating out a lot adds up too, but you definitely want to eat local food! Also for the free days we booked flights to Greece, so that added up as well! I also wish I had known to bring a little portable speaker!

Reasons For Studying Abroad

The Avid Adventurer
The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
