DIS Copenhagen: Semester

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I gained a new sense of appreciation for other cultures and a deeper understanding of the Danish way of life. Being enrolled in the Danish Language and Culture Class helped me understand how Denmark developed into its current state.

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 6 months+

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The classes are challenging yet allow you time to have a full cultural experience and explore while abroad

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

In general good at getting back to you and communicating with students

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

Always had a home cooked meal with my host family

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Living with a host family definitely allows you to meet a lot of local people and learn about the culture.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

Extremely accessible healthcare. I do know some students that struggled with healthcare before getting their health cards, but I believe DIS reimbursed those students.

* Safety:

Always felt safe in the city

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Copenhagen is definitely an expensive city, but living with a host family helped cover cost of food and living. I spent the most on personal travel.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? approximately $25 to $50 depending on the week
