Traveling was invaluable. The experience abroad was definitely worthwhile, and living in Europe was great. I developed a great understanding of the world. I also made a lot of friends from the ERASMUS program, through the European exchange program. I was able to travel to 13 different countries in Europe and explore many different cities.

The dorm accommodation at edge hill could have been improved for American students. The shower situation was full of mold. |

Easily accessible and very helpful. I hurt my knee while hiking in Switzerland, and my school nurse on campus was able to assist me. |

Felt safer abroad than at home. Very safe-- violence seemed unheard of. And, also never got pick pocked while traveling to other countries (as long as you are cautious you will be safe). |

My student budget was fine... I would have to plan for extra expenses (shopping, going out, etc). |

| Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Utilize grocery stores and markets instead of always going to restaurants. Use your meal plan wisely. And, save money for trips by not spending as much during the week. Take photos and videos instead of buying a ton of souvenirs. |

| * What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | Edge Hill University is the top #7 party school in the U.K. I should have known that classes were going to be very easy, and that local students only like to go to clubs and drink every single day instead of getting to know you and other international students. I also wish I would have known how small Ormskirk is. Nobody warned me about those two things, and after traveling to places like Scotland, Wales and Ireland, Oxford, London, and even Liverpool, I think I would have been a better fit with the local students there. Also: Nobody told me how much extra expenses would be on campus. Just additional fees to use facilities on campus, and also in order to travel to Liverpool you would have to pay a 4 pound fare every time. |
