Brigham Young University: Wales - Wales Study Abroad

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Most importantly, I gained valuable knowledge and skills in the Welsh language, as well as learning a little more about the local culture and customs. It was well worth my time and money for the experience.

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • The cheap cost
  • The friendly and helpful teachers
  • The fact that I was in Wales
* What could be improved?
  • Internet connection was not always reliable/available
  • Housing could have been nicer, but it's cheap I guess
  • The weather was much too warm for being in Wales
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I couldn't connect to T-mobile's network at all while I was there. It wasn't crucial, but if that's important, maybe look into buying a local sim card? Also, trying to sight-see on your own on the weekends is hard, because trains/buses don't go everywhere very directly, and everything closes at like 5.
