Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 1 month - 6 months

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

This course was largely independent and was challenging in that regard, but instructors and their expectations were not very intense.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Arcadia administration were helpful and made themselves available for assistance.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Margaret MacDonald house structural has a lot of issues. There was regular maintenance issues, some of which have not been corrected in the 5 months I have been here. As far as the social experience, it was an incredible time.

* Food:

No food is provided as part of accommodation, but the food options throughout Glasgow are plentiful and largely inexpensive.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Locals were welcoming and the city has a lot to offer in regard to cultural opportunities.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

A physician was made available for students, but I never needed to visit them.

* Safety:

Glasgow feels very safe overall.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

The freedom this course offers was incredibly liberating and provided me a lot of time for personal reflection and growth.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Food and other resources are relatively inexpensive.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $50-100
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Groceries are pretty inexpensive in comparison to the States. I recommend cooking a lot of your own meals.
