* Social & Cultural Integration:

Integration inside of the school environment was nonexistent. It was as if there were two separate universities, one for Costa Ricans and one for international students. Luckily I was able to experience the local culture more through my host family.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

San Jose is a dangerous city, but I never really felt like I was personally at risk.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

What was the highest level language course you had completed prior to departure? AP Spanish
How many hours per day did you use the language?
Do you have any tips/advice on the best ways to practice the language for future study abroad participants? Practicing a foreign language with native speakers instead of with other Americans is going to be a lot more effective in advancing your skills.
