"I really enjoyed my study abroad program because it was not only an academically challenging experience studying at one of the most prestigious universities in Europe, but also a unique opportunity to become a Parisian and fall in love with the French culture. I learned french only a few months before my program, and then decide..."

"My favorite part was traveling. I would choose a different program if I could do it all over again just so I could improve on my French or Spanish, but this is just a matter of personal goals / preference. Living in London was super fun as well. "
Seowoo L Wellesley College
"As I previously mentioned, I made some wonderful new friends abroad and had amazing experiences travelling Australia. Melbourne is also a great city filled with delicious food, interesting artwork, and vibrant culture. Participating in the study abroad program at University of Melbourne is absolutely worthwhile. "
Vanessa Kelley Wellesley College
"My favorite part of this program was the travel breaks. I went on DIS study tours for two of the three travel breaks, and both of those trips were perfectly organized and very fun. I learned how to live on my own with this program, and I learned a lot about all of Europe, not just Denmark."
Kendra C Wellesley College
"I learned my learning capacity, what I love to study and how to study effectively, how to write well, and how to adjust to a place different from your own home. "
A student Wellesley College
"My time abroad was very worthwhile. I learned so much about myself and also about a different culture. I was able to do fieldwork and clinical work that I would not have ever been able to do in the United States. I met some of the most amazing people and learned so much from them. Also, my Spanish improved which is nice."

"I learned how to be more independent. I had never cooked for myself before so that was a challenge but it was fun to learn. I also learned how to manage money, especially traveling expenses, and gained some lifelong friends from all over the US and Great Britain. I went to St Andrews after an emotionally tough fall for me and wh..."

"I learned that cultural dynamics often vary. What is taboo or sensitive to say in the US may not be the same in the UK. People are generally friendly wherever you go. Schools like SOAS are gems for diversity and cultural exchange."
Victoria Y Wellesley College
"I learned how to live on my own in a city, and work with a budget. I became more self-sufficient, and learned to balance my work and commute. It was absolutely worthwhile."

"You really learn how to fend for yourself. Wellesley is so wonderfully helpful and kind to its students, while SOAS really is not. I had a great time meeting new friends, learning London and traveling Europe. In general, it was a terrific experience. "
A student Wellesley College
"I learned a lot about my self and I also became extremely independent. I loved London and hope to live there if the future will allow it. It was definitely a worthwhile experience, and although I missed Wellesley dearly, I would strongly encourage everyone to study abroad for at least once semester. "
A student Wellesley College
"It was definitely worthwhile to spend a semester in Scotland, though spending Wellesley tuition for Edinburgh education and lack of personal attention was pretty disappointing. "
A student Wellesley College
"While abroad, I gained a lot more independence, from having to cook all my own meals to navigating through places I had never been to alone. I also found it valuable to practice finding community in a place where you know no one. I think my time abroad was absolutely worthwhile."
A student Wellesley College
"I gained so much from my experience doing SEA Semester and it was very worthwhile! I was really pushed out of my comfort zone and gained a lot of confidence through this experience. I knew very little about oceans and nothing about sailing before SEA Semester and I gained a real interest and appreciation of the sea and sailing. ..."
