"I'm glad I went, because I feel it forced me to grow up a lot, despite the fact that I already considered myself pretty independent, and I felt like I became much more independent and self-reliant while I was abroad. However, I didn't ENJOY it as much as I would have liked to, I felt like I was just getting by and making the bes..."

"I met some amazing friends there, but the program was so disappointing that I can't say it was worthwhile. I am so sad that it turned out this way."

"No. Lacking in almost all regards. "

"How to live abroad and travel well. Yes absolutely, but not much thanks to Arcadia."

"It was absolutely worthwhile and I don't regret going. My language skills improved significantly and I made the best of a difficult situation"

"I can speak French a heck of a lot better than I could before. I had incredible experiences exploring Paris and other cities when I traveled, but the program was a total waste because I feel as though I learned nothing and received few benefits. I would have been better off going to Paris on my own for 4 months than doing the ..."

"I appreciate Tufts much more now."
Mary P Tufts University
"It was worthwhile but definitely not due to the program. It was eye-opening in certain ways, but at times it was eye-opening because these were situations the program should not have put me in. "

"Ultimately, it was worthwhile, because it was part of life. I think I learned most about what I'm NOT more than having a match with who I am. I would have definitely thrived more in a different environment and actually left the program for that reason. I know plenty of people who loved it, so this is definitely a personal opinio..."

"The only thing I enjoyed about this semester was the opportunity to travel around Europe. My program was a total failure (unorganized, too much work, uninteresting), and Paris, as it turned out, just wasn't for me. "

"Egypt is a rough country. "
Christine G Tufts University
"I learned some random things about Italian culture...enough Italian to appease my parents and make it seem worthwhile. I made some great friends, but still feel disappointed at myself for not challenging myself academically or culturally by choosing a more rigorous program taught in a different language. "

"In the end it was because my host fAMIly was good."
Michael B Tufts University
"I certainly got a huge amount out of the academic portion of the program thanks to the amazing teachers that we had."

"While there were many aspects of this experience that I didn't love, it's definitely not an experience that I regret. I met people on my program who will be my friends for life. No matter where you live abroad, you will always learn something about yourself. Through going abroad I learned so much about myself, and about what I w..."

"It was great. I just wish I'd decided to go abroad with more friends from Tufts."
Harmony T Tufts University
"Yes. I came to Chile to learn Spanish. That was my primary goal and I definitely feel that I have improved my language skills. I also learned a lot about what it means to be from the US in a world dominated by the US. I learned how to live in another country. I gained a lot of information about myself especially. One thing I rea..."

"Studying abroad was definitely worth it. Being on my own in a completely foreign culture forced me to adapt and negotiate with my surroundings. It was difficult to be so far from my family and friends, and even more challenging to face racism for the first time, but the friendships I made and the experiences I had in Japan made ..."
