"Regarding the above question, if I would choose the same program: While I did not enjoy this program and felt fiercely opposed to this country's policies, I am not sure that I would choose a different program. While perhaps another program would have been less devastating, it would have been so because I wouldn't have been so ex..."

"It was worthwhile only because I learned so much about myself and how to deal with sadness/homesickness/isolation/anxiety. I've never felt those feelings in such depth until this experience and now I think I have a better way to live my life going forward by only choosing things that will make me happy. "

"Being abroad is extraordinary and challenging. Being in Ghana was amazing. But we had so many problems with our program: corruption, absent academic director, extreme discomfort in homestays, racism, insensitive dialgoue about sexual assault, an extremely poorly designed academic program. "I learned a great deal about countries that were not England, as I only interacted with international students all semester. That was certainly the most rewarding aspect of the semester, and I am so glad I had the chance to study abroad for that reason. Did not learn a great deal in my classes. Became much better at managing log..."

"I learned to enjoy solitude. Most of the people I met in my dorm were not really concerned about anything that I was concerned about. People at the school were not very engaged in their program of study so I spent most of my time by myself. I suppose that is important. "

Julia J Middlebury College
"I learned how to be independent and travel on my own. It was not worthwhile at all. I did not enjoy my semester there and wish I didn't go. I think Middlebury has this culture where everyone is pushed to study abroad because "you will regret it if you don't" but honestly it's hard for me to believe everyone loves it that much. I..."
