"Interesting, but not fulfilling and would not repeat. Didn't learn anything that wasn't in class lectures"
Evan Killion Middlebury College
"I gained a more worldly perspective."
Jake Dianno Middlebury College
"I learned a lot about activism and co-ops, and it was not worthwhile."
A student Middlebury College
"As bad as it went for me, I can at least say that I can learn from my mistakes and hopefully be better prepared mentally for this program."
A student Middlebury College
"I gained a lot of language acquisition and challenged myself in so many ways. It was very difficult but rewarding."
A student Middlebury College
"It wasn't worth it. I mean I am happy that I achieved language proficiency, but I could have done that another way. "
A student Middlebury College
"While there I learned a lot about British culture and perspectives on various topics such as their view on U.S. politics or gun control. At the same time, I gained a greater appreciation for America and the comforts of home. "
A student Middlebury College
"I learned how to spend time by myself without feeling lonely, how to navigate a city, and how to attend classes that I'm not used to. I'm glad I did it, but I wouldn't recommend this program or even London in general. "
A student Middlebury College
"Improved academic Chinese skills"
A student Middlebury College
"Definitely a worthwhile program. My Spanish became fluent enough that people stopped immediately assuming I was from the U.S. My social skills improved a lot. I learned more about Cuba than most people ever consider."
Adam R Middlebury College
"International exposure. "
A student Middlebury College
"I was able to live in Israel for four months."
A student Middlebury College
"I gained competence as a French speaker, the ability to adjust to and navigate through different cultures. I gained personal confidence and knowledge of how to take care of myself in challenging/stressful situations. I also discovered a lot about my personal likes and dislikes."
A student Middlebury College
"I gained more independence and met some great people. "
A student Middlebury College
"I did learn plenty of research skills and how to use a library to my best advantage. I think Oxford is more worth while though if you do two terms with an individual college rather than a proxy program. I would recommend this program if you care little about travelling and want to delve yourself into Medieval or Renaissance stud..."
A Student Middlebury College
"I got a good experience with some great people and I got to see what research is about. I don't know if it was worthwhile because, even though I did learn a bit, I feel like I could have learnt much more at my home institution."
A student Middlebury College
"I learned that I don't really like studying that much. "
A student Middlebury College
"I did learn some studying skills that I did not have in my home institution because the learning style is just so different. I also got to take some electives I couldn't have taken in my institution. I also enjoyed being able to travel in the UK. In that sense it was fun and worthwhile, but I was very disappointed with how the..."
A student Middlebury College
"It made me really appreciate home, and I don’t know if I needed to go to Ecuador to do that. "
A student Middlebury College
"I am sometimes too patient and need to be more vocal when I am unhappy with my situation. At the same time, some things will always be out of my control."
A student Middlebury College
"I learned a lot about independence, and working without being pushed. I also was put into an environment where I was able to deal with issues on a macro, advanced level - in contrast to how information is typically spoon-fed at Middlebury - which I think was immensely valuable. I made good friends in another country that I pla..."
A student Middlebury College
"It was worthwhile in that living in another country and culture can help you think about your own worldview. And I love Greece!"
A student Middlebury College
"I think I learned a lot more about myself than anything else participating in this program. The living situation and the rigor/quantity of work definitely made it a challenging experience"
A student Middlebury College
"I think I grew a lot as a person because I was alone a lot and had to create my own happiness many times. I definitely learned some about the host country, but I do not think it changed any of my interests/plans/awareness."
Hannah P Middlebury College
"I learned a lot of spanish so the program was worth it but I wish I had done the program in another location where there was more support"
