To help with the funding of your study abroad, we have compiled this list of scholarship opportunities offered by providers of study abroad programs and foreign host universities. In this directory you will see information from these organizations, which may help you fund your dream of study abroad.

Many other resources exist, including those from your home university, you should check with your study abroad office for a list of these. You might also consider how study abroad may impact your existing university Financial Aid package, as the cost of your education will change.

Swan Valley Connections

1 scholarship available across 2 programs

Swan Valley Connections maintains a scholarship fund for students who would otherwise be unable to attend one of our academic-credit field programs. Scholarships from our general fund are based on a combination of financial need and academic merit and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Our Agnes Beck Memorial Scholarship is reserved for students who currently have in-state status at any Montana university.

Typically, our awards range from $500 to $1500 depending on fund availability and financial need

CEPA Foundation

2 scholarships available across 2 programs

Two $1,000 scholarships are available each year to students, who are the first generation in their family studying at a university / college and participating in any CEPA Foundation semester abroad program.

Thinking Beyond Borders

Thinking Beyond Borders offers needs-based financial aid to those who qualify by completing our financial aid application (available once the general gap year application is submitted).

CIMBA

6 scholarships available across 2 programs

CIMBA offers a limited number of merit-based awards to program participants. Semester Average Range: $250 – $1,000. Summer Average Range: $100 – $500

CIMBA seeks creative and motivated students to document their experiences abroad. Students will use create videos that capture and describe the CIMBA experience, Italian culture and more. Videos will be posted onto YouTube. This scholarship award is not available for the summer session. Semester & Summer: $750

Share your study abroad journey with family, friends, and prospective students by applying to be a CIMBA blog ambassador. Blog ambassadors document their CIMBA experience by posting a blog entry approximately once a week on the official CIMBA blog and contribute to the end-of-semester student yearbook. Showcase your favorite pictures, memories, and lessons learned along the way! Semester: $500 & Summer: $250

Planning on posting about your time abroad on Facebook? Why not get paid for it! Through Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat, the CIMBA Social Media students will share their experiences with family, friends, and prospective students. This position requires 5-10 posts per week on a variety of platforms. Semester: $500 & Summer: $250

CIMBA offers a limited number of need-based awards to program participants. Semester Average Range: $250 – $1,000. Summer Average Range: $100 – $500

CIMBA seeks students with strong leadership experience to support the students on campus and serve as a role model. The primary function of a Resident Assistant (RA) is to promote and maintain a positive living environment that is conducive to academic achievement and personal growth, and is respectful of its residents. RAs act as peer advisors, role models, and administrators while they help students settle into a new environment and culture. Semester: $3,000 & Summer: $1,500
