Worcester College, University of Oxford - Visiting Students Program

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned to be much more independent than I was at Wellesley and how to push myself out of my comfort zone. I had to become good at managing my time and being open to trying new things.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 2 weeks - 1 month

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The tutorial system was very unique and a good way to meet other Oxford students. Personally, I thought the economics tutorials were much easier than a typical Wellesley courseload. The nature of the classes being pass/fail also took a lot of the pressure off.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Studying abroad at Oxford is such a once-in-a-lifetime experience (academically, socially, and culturally). There is always so much to do and I never felt bored.

  • Big university vibe (lots of different orgs, people to meet, things going on)
  • Being in a city
* What could be improved?
  • Faster feedback on academic work
  • More organized social gatherings with other students (especially in September)
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I kept coming down with sicknesses throughout the semester so I'd recommend packing any cold/flu medicines and being careful not to overexert your body.
